I have just purchased a Volvo V70 from Welcome cars, Swindon. I found the staff approachable and all seemed to know the stock on the forecourt. I was left to go over the car for as long as I needed with no pressure or unwanted intrusion from the staff. I was allowed to take the car for a test drive on my own, which for me took away any third party and unnecessary influence. I will never buy without giving myself time to evaluate the deal normally 1 or 2 days, at no time did I feel a pressure or hard sale. I would use Welcome cars again.

Found welcome cars to be extremely friendly and helpful. Was looking for a reasonably cheap reliable car and with a little help from welcome that's exactly what I got. Drove the car straight off of their forecourt and down to the south coast with no problems now 4 days later and car is great. Having read the reviews, I was beginning to think I had the wrong garage - or these reviewers did. I turned up for a test drive appointment, made the day before only to find the place locked up. I phoned the mobile number left on the door and got a 'matey' text saying they would be there soon. Soon turned out to be 25 minutes. I spotted the car I had seen online but it was £500 more here now. I took a picture of the front and sent to my partner to check. The online photo of the car showed no scratches or marks, whereas it clearly had them. Someone eventually turned up who did not inspire confidence. The previous day they told me it had failed its MOT but it would be done again before my test drive. It hadn't been. I asked about the price difference. The guy didnt seem to know and rang someone and came back saying they had lots of cars at the moment and wanted to price it to sell. But why have two very different prices online and on the forecourt? After more time while this guy found dealer plates, i was losing patience and also trust in what I would be buying so I left without doing a test drive. I'd gone there specially so it was a waste of at least three hours on the hottest day of the year.

Not great in the end. Didn't advertise all scratches/faults and we didn't see until it was delivered to us. They messed up log book registration and we are left out of pocket to have their mistake fixed. They argued with us and hung up the phone. Awful "service".
